The Cuban Infernal Heat-Advection Hypothesis

CIHAH, commonly known as the Hell’s Gate Theory

Hell's Gate

The theory proposes that at some point during the Castro era, an undocumented geothermal–metaphysical rupture opened beneath Cuba, creating a persistent conduit between the island and the lower thermal regions of Hell. The rupture, known scientifically as La Compuerta Infernal Cubana, continuously releases anomalously hot air into the Caribbean boundary layer. Because Florida lies immediately downwind and north of Cuba, South Florida receives the highest measurable concentration of infernal thermal leakage.

Principal observations supporting the theory:

Miami frequently feels hotter than any reasonable interpretation of atmospheric physics should permit.

Walking outside in summer can produce the immediate sensation of having opened an oven door.

Humidity magnifies the effect because infernal heat apparently binds very efficiently to water vapor.

The phenomenon is strongest in South Florida and gradually weakens northward, precisely as expected from dilution of the Cuban infernal plume.

Cuba itself remains suspiciously close to the presumed source.

Cold fronts temporarily suppress the phenomenon, suggesting that sufficiently dense continental air can push the infernal plume back toward the Straits of Florida.

The mechanism is straightforward. Heat escaping through Hell’s Gate rises through Cuba, enters the lower troposphere, and is transported northward by prevailing Caribbean circulation. Crossing the Florida Straits does little to cool it because the extremely warm ocean acts as a thermal reinforcement zone.

Once the plume reaches Miami-Dade, local humidity traps it, producing the characteristic South Florida condition technically described as:

“Why in God’s name is it this hot at eight o’clock in the morning?”

The theory also predicts a positive feedback mechanism. As Florida becomes hotter, air-conditioning units expel additional heat outdoors, thereby creating a secondary anthropogenic amplification known as the Miami Infernal Feedback Loop.

Importantly, the Hell’s Gate Theory should not be confused with ordinary global warming. Under CIHAH, climate change merely provides background amplification; the primary regional driver remains Castro’s failure to close the gate.

The theory's central equation is:

T₍Miami₎ = T₍normal Florida₎ + H₍Cuba₎ × RH + Castro Constant

where H₍Cuba₎ is infernal heat flux, RH is relative humidity, and the Castro Constant is an empirically determined quantity representing how much additional aggravation can be attributed to Fidel personally.

Peer review remains difficult because all expeditions attempting to locate the gate have reportedly returned saying only:

“Sí, sí. Está caliente.”
